Christopher D. Soto, Founding Attorney

Attorney Christopher D. Soto is dedicated to providing comprehensive, highly personalized estate planning counsel to couples, families, individuals and businesses. As the firm's founder, he holds the highest standard of client services, scholarship and lawyer accessibility. He serves his clients by first listening closely to their goals, dreams and concerns. He then works with his clients to develop superior plans that reflect the clients' own unique situations, while putting his knowledge and experience to work for their benefit. He is committed to helping his clients understand that the foundation of estate planning is not just saving tax dollars, but also appreciating the value of planning for themselves and their loved ones.
Mr. Soto enjoys speaking to accountants, lawyers, financial planners, insurance professionals, and the public. He maintains the highest level of knowledge and expertise through ongoing continuing education and frequent attendance at nationally recognized conferences on advanced planning topics. In addition, Mr. Soto is a member of Wealth Counsel and The Advisors Forum, which meet regularly to learn the most current information on advanced estate planning concepts, strategies and changes in the law directly from the most widely recognized experts in the country.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree, he went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University College of Law.  He is a member of the Arizona Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in the
state of Arizona and is admitted to practice before Arizona trial courts, the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Arizona, and the United States District Court of Arizona.

Logan H. Woodruff, Associate Attorney

Logan joined the Soto Law Firm in 2015 because of his passion for estate planning and business transactions.  He is a valuable member of the Soto Law Firm’s Estate Planning practice group, and enjoys personally assisting individuals and families with their estate planning needs, regardless of the size and complexity of the estate.  Logan excels at understanding our client’s needs and goals, and then developing and delivering individually tailored estate plans according to those goals.  He is committed to helping clients fully grasp the nuances of their estate plans in a way that is easy to understand.  

Logan’s real world experience in construction and business transactions allows him to advise clients as they form business entities such as limited liability companies for asset protection purposes.  Logan has substantial business organization experience and routinely advises clients regarding office leasing, buy-sell agreements, and business succession planning.  Recently, Logan has developed an interest in IRA conduit trusts, which enable clients to name a trust as the beneficiary of retirement accounts, such as an IRA or 401k, while preserving the maximum tax benefits and stretch-out capacity of retirement distribution requirements. When not at the office, Logan enjoys time with his wife, Blair, and their three wonderful daughters.  Logan volunteers with his community church and the local Boy Scout Troop.  When time permits, he is an avid off-road motor cycle enthusiast who can be found on local trails and at the sand dunes near southern Arizona.  Other hobbies he enjoys include snowboarding, paint balling, tennis, and reading.

Logan graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law at Arizona State University in 2014, where he earned his Juris Doctor, and participated in the Corporate and Business Law Society, the Federalist Society, and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society .  Logan was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 2014. Logan is a member of the Arizona Bar Association and the Maricopa County Bar Association. Prior to Law School, Logan graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007, with a degree in Construction Management, and then worked in large commercial construction in the Phoenix area.

Michele Johnson, Client Relations/Legal Assistant

Michele has over 10 years of administrative experience and joined the firm in April, 2015.  She has completed various administration and legal education programs, and is responsible for all aspects of clients service and office administration.  Michele is the first contact for clients and her friendly demeanor and enthusiasm allows clients to feel comfortable and ensures that a pleasant planning experience is delivered during what, at times, can be difficult circumstances.  Her duties include assembly of client documents and portfolios, and communications throughout the client engagement process.

Michele lives in Mesa, Arizona.  She enjoys singing and playing the guitar.
